The Japanese art of forest bathing, also known as Shinrin-Yoku, translates to “being in the abundance of the interconnectedness of the forest.” This practice encourages us to slow down and bring mindfulness to every step. Linda Lombardo, founder of Wild Heart Nature Connection, will guide guests through meditative workshops and forest immersions, offering space for deep healing and wellness amongst the outdoors.

The daily schedule also features a private garden tour at LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton, restorative and morning yoga classes guided by our resident team, as well as an all-inclusive culinary program offering a fully nourishing, plant-based experience.

Workshop Descriptions:

Restorative Yoga: Enjoy physical, mental, and emotional relaxation for a restful night’s sleep. Utilize props such as bolsters, blocks, blankets and straps to feel fully supported.  

Private Garden Tour at LongHouse Reserve: LongHouse Reserve is a sixteen-acre garden in East Hampton with established lawns, ornamental borders, plant collections and outdoor sculpture. See works by Ai Weiwei, John Giorno, and Bernar Venet while led on a private tour for Shou Sugi Ban House. Conclude the excursion with a guided meditation in one of the garden’s peaceful areas. 

Introduction to Forest Bathing: Learn about the Japanese art of Shinrin-yoku. Forest bathing is a meditative walk among the trees which has been known to enhance intuition and mental clarity. By slowing down and observing, you open your senses to receive what the forest and nature has to offer and inform.

Evening Nature Connection: A meditative experience under the stars will offer open space for connection with your breath, your personal intentions and your retreat group. 

Forest Walk: Breathe in deep and allow your senses to take in the natural medicine of the forest in a guided, meditative walk among the trees. In this practice suitable for all levels of health, you will become aware of things you normally wouldn’t notice, and receive the benefits of a guide who can talk about the local plants, trees and life around you.
